Steve was born and raised in Wollongong and completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery at Sydney University in 1988. He worked both locally here in Wollongong and in Newcastle before consulting at this practice. Over the years, the practice has moved from Market Street, then to Kembla Street in 1996 and finally here to Ellen Street in March 2007.

Within Steve's practice, he is committed to continuing education, keeping up with advances in dentistry and has a keen interest in technology. He lives locally and has two adult children. Steve has a particular interest in cosmetic dentistry involving complex composite work, crowns, restorations and the restorative component of dental implants. He also performs a lot of root canal treatment, but has a special interest in sleep medicine. Steve attends colaborative group meetings with the sleep, ear nose and throat, respiratory specialists, orthodonists and other dentists at the local sleep clinic to help solve complex cases. Within Steve's practice, he assesses and fits patients with anti-snoring oral devices worn at night. Away from work, Steve is a keen golfer and is into pilates. Sharmila graduated from the University of Witwatersrand in 1994 and worked in South Africa for 9 years before moving to Australia with her husband and son. Sharmila brings warmth and calm to this practice when she is consulting here and looks after patients of all ages. Sharmila has a great skill in endodontics (root canal treatment) and often undertakes really complex and extensive restorative cases where multiple teeth are restored to improve function and aesthetics.

Generated by a real talent in oral surgery, Sharmila has undertaken further training at Sydney University in oral surgery techniques, and most recently, completed an advanced oral surgery program at Melbourne Dental School, so many patients who would have normally had to see a specialist, can be treated here. In 2016, Sharmila became a member of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons, which required extensive study and examination. Sharmila is giving back to future dentists by supervising University of Sydney 3rd year dental students in their clinics. Sharmila consults here from Monday to Thursday.

Dr Adib Golshan graduated from Charles Sturt University in Orange in 2017. Following graduation, he returned to his hometown of Albury-Wodonga, where he worked for the past 7.5 years at the same private dental clinic, building long-standing relationships with his patients and the local community.

Adib enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, with a particular interest in preventative and restorative dentistry. He is passionate about saving natural teeth wherever possible and has a strong interest in endodontic treatment.

In 2023 and 2024, Adib undertook and completed the General Dental Residency Course and was awarded his Certificate in Clinical Dentistry.

Alongside his clinical work and studies, Adib has also been involved in dental education, working as a clinical demonstrator for final-year dental students at both La Trobe University and Charles Sturt University dental clinics. He has spoken to Year 12 students at career days about pursuing a career in dentistry and has supported work experience students observing in practice.

Adib is known for his friendly, approachable, and calm manner. He places great importance on building strong relationships with his patients to achieve the best possible long-term oral health outcomes.

Adib has recently moved to the Wollongong area for a sea change and is enjoying the active lifestyle the region has to offer. He loves all sports, particularly tennis, soccer, and running. His brief dreams of becoming a professional soccer player came to an abrupt end after breaking his nose in 2025, forcing him into an early (and sensible) retirement. His tennis claim to fame is playing a match against Nick Kyrgios in 2009—an experience that ended in a convincing 6–2, 6–0 loss. These days, he’s sticking to running and is currently training for his first marathon, which he knows is considerably safer for his nose.
